Companies are grouped according to the number of employees within each of the EBACS classification profiles and ownership sectors:

• business units with more than 9 employees (known as medium and large business units according to the classification system used by the Central Statistical Office),
• business units employing between 10 and 50 workers (known as medium business units according to the classification system used by the Central Statistical Office),
• business units with more than 50 employees (known as large business units according to the classification system used by the Central Statistical Office),
• business units employing between 51 and 250 workers,
• business units with more than 250 employees.
